Wander Women Adventures take place in Eastern Oregon, on the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, and Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) indigenous nations, who have lived in these beautiful areas for centuries. We recognize that, for those of us who are settlers of these lands, our recreation is possible because of the sacrifices forced upon these peoples. In recognizing the original inhabitants of these lands we strive to honor their lives and their legacy.
Wild & Scenic Riverside Trek
Dates: SOLD OUT – June 27-30, 2024 (Taking Waitlist)

Hike along the banks of the Wild & Scenic North Fork of the John Day River, where it spills out from the heights of the Elkhorn Crest Mountains. We’ll be in the remote John Day Wilderness, where you’ll take in the majesty of the wild river, see wildflowers in bloom, and walk through fragrant pine forest.
We’ll spend Thursday night “frontcountry” in a charming campground at the trailhead, then spend Friday – Sunday backpacking out and back alongside the river. Each night we’ll camp beside the cool, clear river, and we may even spot elk grazing in the meadows. The trail is moderate, with some hills climbs as it meanders up and down along the river. We’ll be hiking at elevations above 5,000ft, which will feel easy with the support of your fellow Wander Women! You won’t want to miss out on this chance to experience some of the best scenery in all of Oregon!
Elkhorn Crest Loop
Dates: July 18-21, 2024 – ONE spot remaining!

Each night we’ll camp beside sparkling alpine lakes, and we may even spot elk grazing in the meadows. We’ll be hiking at elevations above 7,000ft, which is high enough that most people can feel the difference, so we’ll hike at a pace that feels comfortable for everyone with plenty of breaks for pictures, snacks, and laughter. There is no better way to experience the alpine environment than with the support of your fellow Wander Women!
Strawberry Mountain Wilderness
Dates: August 2-4, 2024 – 2 Spots remaining!
Price: $695
This two-night trip is the perfect getaway for a long weekend. We’ll camp both nights at the same sparkling alpine lake, and day-hike with lighter packs on Saturday. We’ll be hiking at elevations above 7,000ft, which provides sweeping views and will feel easy with the support of your fellow Wander Women! For the adventurous, there is even the opportunity to summit 9,042ft Strawberry Mountain. You won’t want to miss out on this chance to escape the crowds and experience some of the best scenery in all of Oregon.
